Corporate Sponsorship

Our Background

Founded in 2006, the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum and Baseball Library is set inside Joe Jackson’s former home in Greenville, South Carolina. It is an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to honoring the life and preserving the legacy of the greatest natural hitter to ever play the game. Through the research, collection, and display of many original artifacts, photos, and countless books in our on-site research library, we provide comprehensive context for Joe’s place in baseball history.

As a non-profit institution, the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum and Baseball Library depends on the generosity of baseball fans all across the country in order to purchase and maintain exhibits and materials on display. In addition to dispelling myths and educating the public about the truth of Joe’s life and career, our mission is to be an active, contributing member within our local communities, continuing to grow the game of baseball for generations to come.

How special is our museum? In 2018, we were voted among the Top 10 Best Attractions for Sports Fans by USA Today’s Reader’s Choice Travel. The other attractions upon which this honor was bestowed include:

Pro Football Hall of Fame – Canton, OH
Negro League Baseball Museum – Kansas City, MO
Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum – Indianapolis, IN
Field of Dreams Movie Site – Dyersville, IA
Kentucky Derby Museum – Louisville, KY
National Baseball Hall of Fame – Cooperstown, NY
U.S. Olympic Training Center – Colorado Springs, CO
NASCAR Hall of Fame – Charlotte, NC
Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory – Louisville, KY

As you can see, the popularity of Joe’s lore is evidenced by the inclusion of two Jackson-related sites within the Top 10, while no other individual athlete is recognized, even once.

Our Program

A Corporate Sponsorship requires a minimum contribution of $5,000. All Corporate Sponsorships will be recognized on our website for one year. In addition, your group of up to 24 guests will enjoy one evening of hors d’oeuvres and a private guided tour.

Your corporate sponsorship will enable us to achieve our goals of education and community outreach. We understand that each sponsor may have different goals in pledging their support. We will work to match your donation with a specific opportunity that fits your organization’s philosophy.

One of our goals, for example, is to champion the restoration of the dilapidated ballfields of the area to their original splendor, as well as sponsor the little league teams which may eventually play on them.

Since Joe was someone who was able to become a successful businessman despite the fact that he was illiterate, we also value the importance of education and literacy programs in schools and for the underserved.

If you have questions about sponsorship or are interested in working with the Shoeless Joe Jackson Museum and Baseball Library, please contact us.

Thank you for your support.
